The Effortless Versatility of Sofia Coelho

Sofia Coelho has become such a revolutionary icon within the fashion industry, whether people recognize the name or not, I can bet almost anyone that they have seen her on their Pinterest inspiration boards. Growing up in Porto, Portugal, she has grown an extremely strong following, specifically known for her love for travel and following, creating fun and intricate outfits for each city. Widely known on Instagram and Pinterest for her eclectic taste in fashion whether it is through second-hand, designer, or small business pieces, Coelho knows exceedingly well how to put together such an exciting outfit, accessorized to the max. Something pertains largely to her individually is her love for travel. On her Instagram you can catch her in a new city in what seems like every other post! That particularly always has stuck out to me as someone who greatly loves traveling, and especially the various fashion trends that occur in each place, hence the whole point of this blog! Coelho has learned how to not only take into account the style of the city she visits, but also beautifully incorporated her personal style into it all. Her versatility is also something to take note of, as her “aesthetic” can truly not be strictly categorized. She can be seen in very feminine, frilly skirts and lace tops, but the next day in a pair of acid washed baggy jeans with an oversized graphic top, the next day in a pleated, plaid maxi skirt with a grandma cardigan, or any day in some kind of mix all three. She has never boxed herself in, and that is truly what fashion is all about, at least to me personally. While she is not necessarily the most widely known influencer, I have met multiple people who have not recognized her name, but immediately recognized her outfits upon seeing a picture, which honestly tells even more about how iconic and impactful her style truly is. There is certainly a wide range of styles trending in our current society, anything from “clean girl” simplicity to the maximalism of the “rockstar girlfriend.” The ability to therefore go back and forth from aesthetic to aesthetic is what is so impressive about Sofia. She has always been such an inspiration to me personally, and to so many others, I simply cannot wait to see what she does further within the fashion industry through social media in the future.
