Something that has always intrigued me about fashion is the way it changes and evolves from decade to decade. We can all recall some kind of image if someone mentions fashion in the 1970's or the early 2000's. But as iconic as previous decades are, I always wonder what people will think when someone mentions fashion in the 2020's. It sounds strange to even think of this decade as something people could one day look back on, but time moves faster than I can even keep up with. Even if it could be up for debate, I truly believe the younger generations are always the ones running the trends and I feel lucky enough to get to be a part of that right now as I continue to grow up and evolve my style with it. While there is definitely a large spectrum of fashion styles for those apart of Gen Z, I want to talk about those in my circles, in New York and beyond. I feel so blessed to have friends around me that inspire me everyday with their unique personal styles, and that's what I'll be showing today! Especially being at a place like FIT, I get the chance to see so many people with styles from cities all over the world different from me that I get to take inspiration from. Individuality is a word I'd use to describe peoples style here, there are no rules except to just have fun with it and I love it so much, especially coming from a hometown where that was not usually the case for most people. Down below are a few examples of people in my life that do exactly what I have been explaining and hope you enjoyed!

Amanda Wachner is originally from Omaha, Nebraska. On a trip to New York City just months before making it her home, she was wonderfully introduced to the city with a down pour of rain, but of course not at all stopping her from pulling out a gorgeous outfit. Giving a strong corporate casual look, she paid her baggy jeans with a blazer made so fun with a chunky belt. Amanda's strong love for sustainability and second-hand clothing unfortunately for us, means you cannot shop her outfit, sorry! I will however be on my way to Thrift World in Nebraska ASAP after seeing this outfit.

Alyssa Kim is originally from Los Angeles, California. Her trip to Paris, France inspired her beautiful and airy outfit perfect for a gorgeous summer day in Europe. At 24 years-old, she is on the cutting edge of the fashion industry. Leaning heavily into the coquette trend that was certainly at its peak this past summer, the floral pattern paid with the delicate white maxi skirt pair perfectly, of course with a pair of chunky platform sneakers to keep up with the strenuous amount of walking around Paris.

Giselle Mustafich is originally from Long Island, New York. Growing up near the city like a second home, she has her effortlessly cool style perfectly down pat. Pairing an oversized sweater and a colorful scarf with more edgy Doc Martin boots, she creates such a beautiful aesthetic for herself.
